Look for at least a 450 km (300 miles) range, to go further stretches without stopping to charge. There are also plenty of great places to stop overnight and recharge batteries (literally and figuratively speaking), such as Omaha, Denver or Las Vegas. Large battery capacity is key to ensuring a smoother road trip.

Mr. Moore made available his Papillion home’s historic dryer outlet as a recharging site when the roadtrip reached the vicinity of Omaha, Nebraska. Note: Recharging from a standard 110 VAC, 12-Amp source would take 27 to 30 hours to replenish the battery pack and significantly slow the progress of the roadtrip.

The car came straight to Omaha from the Detroit auto show. MidAmericans David Sokol, BYDs Wang, and company advisor Li Lu flew with Sokol from Detroit to Omaha so that Wang could meet Buffett in person. Ive flown 8,000 miles to meet Wang, and on the way to the interview, my driver pulls to the side of a dusty highway.
