I think that’s fair since on a good day my 3 ½-year-old Chevrolet Volt has a 61-mile all-electric range, roughly comparable to a used Nissan Leaf or Fiat 500e. How about more than 520 miles? Or how about 32 miles on no gasoline at all as you chauffeur around the kids and do in-town errands? The EPA rates fuel economy, when using the hybrid gasoline-only engine at 30 miles per gallon. When combining gasoline and electricity that number jumps to 84 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent).

The all-new 2023 Prius Prime gets two less miles per gallon in hybrid mode than the 2022 model, but the all-electric driving range has increased substantially. The SE with 17-inch alloy wheels gets 53 mpg city/51 highway/52 combined, while the XSE and XSE Premium shod with 18-inch alloy wheels get 50/47/48. kilowatt charger.

If you are one of those “I will never drive a minivan” type of persons, please keep reading. Oh, and could you get used to 32 miles of all-electric driving and 30+ mph when in hybrid mode? In 289 miles driving through Southern California Clean Fleet Report achieved a combined 38.8 mpg based on the dashboard computer.

Toyota has rated the 2023 Prius hybrid at between 50 and 57 miles per gallon (mpg), with the higher range for the FWD models. In our short time driving the Prius AWD, the fuel economy dash meter was reading 54 mpg. Our time was spent on dry pavement negotiating San Diego County highways and city traffic.
