In Europe, it was smaller Jeeps—the subcompact Renegade and compact Compass family SUV—that got their plugs first. One’s the best of the dwindling segment of 7- and 8-seat vehicles that aren’t hulking SUVs. The other is the SUV that started it all, an iconic vehicle known the world over for ruggedness and go-anywhere capability.

Therefore, until we get quick-charge batteries -- based on new breakthroughs, Ill take a WAG and estimate that we will have real 5-minute quick-charge batteries in perhaps 10 years -- we are likely to get our juice mostly from our home chargers. Battery swapping wouldnt make economic sense without a considerable degree of standardization.

Ill never purchase one again, no matter what the mpgs. Blending the MPG of SUVs and small cars understates the real consumption and rewards automakers for building gas hogs and unsafe micro cars which makes people want to buy "safe" gas hogs. should be illegal for companies to purchase patents for the purpose of blocking technology.
