It was the best-selling EV in Italy in 2022. Surprisingly, that price means the Fiat will be less costly in Australia than Italy, where it’s manufactured. Gross capacity of the 500e’s 400-volt lithium-ion pack is 42kW/h, of which a little over 37kW/h is usable. Its top speed is electronically limited to 150km/h.

In Italy this costs $7000 more than the equivalent Fiat 500e La Prima. The liquid-cooled 400-volt lithium-ion battery pack is the same 42kWh (gross) capacity in the Fiat, but is upgraded to supply the higher current required by the more powerful motor. If this turns out to be the case, it’ll add to the Abarth’s appeal.
