The Renault-Nissan Alliance has begun ZEV initiatives in Kanagawa Prefecture and Yokohama in Japan, as well as in Israel, Denmark, Portugal, Monaco, the UK, France, Switzerland, Ireland, China and Hong Kong. As a co-chair of the EV Taskforce, LTA helps ensure that relevant regulations, standards and infrastructure are in place.

Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up. The Chevy Volt is going to count on an overnight charge from a standard wall outlet. The electricity for recharging has to come from somewhere, which means power plants.
