ABB has inaugurated the first OppCharge fast-charging station for electric buses in Benelux, in the commuter belt town of Bertrange, Luxembourg. UK-based Elektromotive has appointed The PluginCompany to install networks of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Belgium and Luxembourg. The field test in Gothenburg began in June 2013 and includes three plug-in hybrid buses, the batteries of which are rapidly recharged at the terminals. The plug-in hybrids have been further developed, and enable rapid recharging from electricity grids via the Opbrid B? sbaar pantograph on the roof.

The first project starts in Brussels at the headquarters of LeasePlan, the world’s largest vehicle management and leasing provider.
