The LS 600h extended the range further in 2007, marking another first in being the first production car to use a full hybrid powertrain with a V8 engine. Up to November this year Lexus had sold around 29,000 of its hybrid limousine in standard and LS 600h L long-wheelbase forms. Lexus hybrid cumulative sales to end-November 2012.

Audi notes that the Lexus HS 250h offers similar combined fuel economy with hybrid technology (EPA estimated 35/34 mpg US city/highway) but not the highway mileage range. The standard version HS 250h will have an MSRP of $34,200, while the Premium model will carry an MSRP of $36,970.
