As part of the US Safety Pilot Model Deployment of connected vehicle technologies ( earlier post ), the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) will launch a motorcycle study to determine how cars, trucks, buses and motorcycles interact using V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) communications technology.

Based in Watertown, Massachusetts, A123Systems has announced plans for a Michigan-based production facility. Chrysler LLC and A123Systems signed an agreement stating that A123Systems will supply energy storage systems for Chryslers first-generation ENVI Range-extended Electric Vehicles and battery-only Electric Vehicles.

It is aggressively in talks with Portland General Electric Plug-In Charging Stations , ( POR ) and other states including Michigan, and California that are scrambling to offer incentives. The Think Global would definitly be classified as a mini-car, several size classes smaller than a compact car like the Honda Civic or Ford Focus.
