Like the Recovery Act-funded projects, the annual Clean Cities projects include grants for vehicles, infrastructure, and education. The project will result in expanded availability of alternative fuels with 17 new CNG and E85 fueling stations and 63 electric vehicle charging stations. Total DOE award: $14,999,658.

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) have installed infrastructure to support more than 12,500 charging stations across the state. For example, utilities in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Massachusetts are planning projects of about US$25 million each.
