Today, BYD employes 130,000 people in 11 factories, either in China and one each in India, Hungary and Rumania. That track record—and that potential—is what persuaded Warren Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, to buy 10% of BYD last fall for $230 million. This could turn out to be one of Buffett’s very best deals.
