The 2011 award winners are: Greener synthetic pathways: Genomatica, San Diego, Calif. Genomatica expects Bio-BDO to be competitive at oil prices of $45 per barrel or at natural gas prices of $3.50 billion in 2011 to $98.5 billion by 2020. The first target molecule for Genomatica is 1,4-butanediol (BDO).
