Lutz is a man given to hyperbole — called global warming "a crock of shit" — but in this case, hes right. To get the most mileage, one could not have the radio, the A/C, or the headlights on. Then consider that in order to actually go any farther than the neighbood store, one still had to have ANOTHER car.
