From spring 2019, Ford, supported by the City of Cologne, will operate a fleet of 10 Ford Transit Custom PHEVs with regional companies in the city to investigate the extent to which PHEVs can help to achieve urban air quality goals. This makes it suited for the use in city traffic. electric vehicles through 2022.

On the heels officially introducing the Focus Electric last week ( earlier post ), Ford revealed two next-generation hybrids—including its first production plug-in hybrid (PHEV)—at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This allows it to run in electric mode before using the gasoline engine.
