Toyota has introduced the new third-generation Tundra full-size pickup with two different powertrain configurations. When paired with the new i-FORCE MAX system, the result is a combined hybrid performance output of 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft (790 N·m) of torque. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Alabama (TMMAL) held an event to mark the first of Toyota’s latest engine products for the all-new 2022 Tundra ( earlier post ) to come off the production line. The all-new 2022 Tundra goes on sale later this year. The standard i-FORCE 3.5L twin-turbo produces up to 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.

All 2023 Sequoias will feature the powerful twin-turbo V6 hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain. First unveiled on Tundra, this exceptional hybrid produces 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. Using the SPORT or SPORT S+ settings, for example, the i-FORCE MAX powertrain makes use of the electric motor’s instantaneous responsiveness.

Fuel economy numbers have not been announced, but the same gasoline-hybrid power plant in the Toyota Tundra pickup gets 20 mpg city/24 highway/22 combined.
