Hertz will begin renting eight CNG Honda Civics and two CNG GMC Yukons at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City early next month. Oklahoma City is serving as a pilot program for Hertz’s CNG airport rentals program. The fuel also typically costs half the price of gasoline and is produced domestically.

This will displace approximately 54 million gallons (204 million liters) of conventional diesel and gasoline annually while reducing total vehicle emissions. The vehicles and infrastructure being funded include the use of natural and renewable gas, propane, ethanol, biodiesel, electricity, and hybrid technologies. The program includes the installation of 10 alternative fuel refueling sites (two B20, one Electric Recharging, and seven CNG). Total DOE award: $15,000,000.
