The Piaggio Group has introduced the MP3 Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid version of its MP3 three-wheeled scooter. Though occasionally derided here in the UK, scooters retain vast appeal throughout Europe where the Piaggio Group has now introduced the MP3 Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid version of its MP3 three-wheeled scooter. There is also an ultra-quiet reverse mode, which can be used for parking or moving in and out of tight spaces.

A credit is also available for each qualified plug-in electric drive motor vehicle placed in service—qualified being a four-wheel, on-road vehicle equipped with a grid-chargeable battery pack of at least 4 kWh capacity. The alternative motor vehicle credit is not allowed against the alternative minimum tax.
