In fact, an EV in the New Zealand fleet emits 83% fewer greenhouse gases than a comparable ICEV during its time on the road. 40% of our energy comes from renewable sources, such as hydro, geothermal and wind. This means when EV owners charge their cars at public charging stations, EVs have even less of a carbon footprint.
