And in the last two weeks, one of the largest utility companies in the United States, Pacific Gas & Electric, announced plans to work with General Motors in experiments with their bidirectional charging technologies. These V2H/V2G-enabled vehicles offer some three to 10 days powering the fridge and lights in case the power goes down.

HUMMER H3 ReEV. The HUMMER H3 was commissioned by Raser ( earlier post ) as part of its lead role in the Plug-in Hybrid Development Consortium , formed in 2005. HUMMER HUT or Chevy Silverado), and expects to have 2,000 units in utility fleets by the end of next year. A UQM PP125EX traction motor powers the wheels.

For extended range I guess one could carry a fairly modest generator set in the trunk to avoid ever being stranded. Motor Trend Magazine has extensive coverage of all cars online including road tests, free videos, buying guides, etc. my idea is that it would work the way propane tanks work now. not an issue.
