I wish the thing was for sale as-is. Competition is going to force them to produce a comfortable, usable, extended range EV for that price, and I will just have to wait. Motor Trend Magazine has extensive coverage of all cars online including road tests, free videos, buying guides, etc.

The head of Chryslers ENVI division, Lou Rhodes, told AutoblogGreen this morning that Chrysler is marketing this battery-only version of the van to commercial fleet customers who typically have shorter range requirements. For extended range I guess one could carry a fairly modest generator set in the trunk to avoid ever being stranded. and your Honda/Sony car will be perfectly happy with any Durcell/Energizer pack just like AA calls in your flashlight. my idea is that it would work the way propane tanks work now.
