Chevrolet and GMC have confirmed a new eight-speed automatic transmission will be standard on 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and GMC Yukon Denali/Yukon XL Denali models equipped with the 6.2L It is a dual-equal cam phasing system that adjusts camshaft timing at the same rate for both intake and exhaust valves.

The base engine is used by General Motors in many applications, among them, the 2010 GMC Yukon Denali. The hardware modifications required for DSF were: Addition of production lost-motion lifters for cylinder deactivation, required for both intake and exhaust valves for the four cylinders not equipped with these lifters from General Motors.
