Mitsubishi chooses Toshiba for electric vehicles

The Toshiba Corporation’s SCiB battery has been chosen by Mitsubishi to power two new electric vehicle models – the i-MiEV and the MINICAB-MIEV. Featuring a lithium titanate oxide in the anode, the SCiB battery has a high level of operating safety as well as a long life and rapid charging.

Nissan and EnerDel team up for research

In an effort to produce a new electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries, Nissan has joined forces with EnerDel to co-fund research at the Argonne National Laboratory. This would support a 10mile electric range plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
