Since it was not a Level 2 charger, I knew it would not gain much juice overnight. Your price may vary The next problem was when I tried to download apps as my iPhone, despite having a one-month local SIM card, would not allow me to download the official Kia app or apps for charging networks.

Nowhere does Europcar mention a Seres 3 electric SUV. I note my booking said: Hyundai Kona Electric or similar compact SUV. You need to download the Shell Recharge app, but as I have an Australian phone with an Australian Apple ID, it says it’s not available in my region. Which is the car we got. This proves a huge hassle.

Therefore, until we get quick-charge batteries -- based on new breakthroughs, Ill take a WAG and estimate that we will have real 5-minute quick-charge batteries in perhaps 10 years -- we are likely to get our juice mostly from our home chargers. Battery swapping wouldnt make economic sense without a considerable degree of standardization.
