The Ramcharger is whats known as an extended-range electric vehicle, or EREV. BMW demonstrated EREV tech beginning in 2013 with its pint-size i3 REx , which used a tiny motorcycle engine to generate electricity. Stellantis is offering plug-in models from Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge in addition to the EREV Ramcharger.

The head of Chryslers ENVI division, Lou Rhodes, told AutoblogGreen this morning that Chrysler is marketing this battery-only version of the van to commercial fleet customers who typically have shorter range requirements.
