The Volt is, and always has been, more than than an electric car. Lutz, who retired earlier this year, called the car Detroits "moon shot" and an attempt to wrest the mantle of innovation back from the Japanese. Lutz is a man given to hyperbole — called global warming "a crock of shit" — but in this case, hes right.
