Following their “Kodo–Soul of Motion” design language, Mazda says the CX-9 with its “fluid exterior lines gives an appearance of movement even while standing still.” Design cues include a long hood, laid-back windshield, short overhangs front and rear and a raked window with an integrated spoiler on the hands-free power lift gate.

The EPA rated the Santa Cruz’ fuel economy at 19 mpg city/27 highway/22 combined. The LED taillights have an attractive design. Coefficient of Drag (C d ) certainly does have an attention getting design. Sliding behind the wheel reveals a curved dash design that has no physical buttons, switches or toggles.

The Maverick EcoBoost was not designed to be a heavy-duty work truck, but more for the weekend warrior/home owner doing DIY projects or used for active lifestyles for activities such as biking and kayaking. The EcoBoost was good for a 6.2

Fuel Economy King in a Not-So-Small Pickup. This compact pickup is smaller than the mid- and full-size trucks roaming our streets, but size alone doesn’t explain how it sips fuel. The EPA has rated the Maverick Hybrid’s fuel economy at 42 mpg city/33 highway and 37 combined. A smaller, but not small pickup.

According to the Ford marketing team we spoke with at a recent media launch event, their target buyer will be young, female, Hispanic, and urban, including a full hybrid model that may get up to 40 mpg (it hasn’t been certified by the EPA at press time). So who does Ford think will buy the all-new 2022 Maverick?

I suspect that the correct plug will be of a twist-lock design as is typical of many higher voltage and amperage plugs used in commercial service and for industrial equipment.
