Competition is going to force them to produce a comfortable, usable, extended range EV for that price, and I will just have to wait. For extended range I guess one could carry a fairly modest generator set in the trunk to avoid ever being stranded. Forcing companies to conform to standardized batteries prevents them from designing better cars. Of course, EVs that arent designed for battery swaps wont use it, and plug-in hybrids wont need it.
