Results demonstrated that the Ford Transit 350HD equipped with the LightningElectric drivetrain achieved 61 MPGe on EPA City routes and 66 MPGe on EPA Highway routes, compared to 13 and 15 MPG respectively for the identically configured gasoline Ford Transit 350HD.

The vehicle uses a split Li-ion battery pack, allowing customers to select a lower-priced option for shorter range. Enova can provide the Ze system either as a turnkey solution for new vehicles or as a conversion or retrofit. The Ze features an Enova 120 kW drive system that produces 472 lb-ft (640 N·m) of torque.

The basis for the "Spirit of DC" staying over in Arizona through the winter results from the gifting of a state-of-the-art Li-ion battery pack and charger from Delaware Power Systems out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Will be a'waiting to converse further while the "Spirit of DC" takes me to San Diego, CA on Friday.
