Toyota EPU (effectively an electric Hilux) Toyota EPU concept is an electric four-door ute Toyota has been glacially slow to the EV market but at the 2023 Tokyo motor show there were signs the message had finally sunk in. Toyota showed off a concept car called the EPU (or electric pick-up) alongside an electric version of the LandCruiser.

5 million government grant was awarded in the 2020/2021 budget to help set up Adelaide-based manufacturing facilities. Audi A6 e-Tron – concept car points to sleek large luxury sedan powered only by electricity. BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. Soon, apparently.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles.
