At the opening of Auto Guangzhou 2012, Shanghai General Motors launched its first localized new energy vehicle, the Sail SPRINGO EV. Based on a Radical chassis, the TMG EV P002 has a predicted top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph) in Pikes Peak configuration, with combined maximum power of 350 kW from its two EVO axial flux motors. kWh Li-ion pack enabling an electric range of up to 15 miles (24 km) at speeds of up to 62 mph (100 km/h), according to Toyota. The production plug-in hybrid has a number of key changes from the 125 prototype demo units that were deployed in the field for testing and customer feedback. The demo units defaulted to EV mode.
