Toyota followed with the Prius a year later, but it took GM until 2006 to introduce its first true gasoline-electric hybrid here. That car was the 2007 Saturn Vue Green Line, and I managed to find one in a Denver-area car graveyard recently. Geo and Oldsmobile were already gone, with Pontiac and Saturn following in 2010.

EcoCAR 3 competition to use Chevy Camaro as base vehicle

General Motors is continuing its partnership with the US Department of Energy and Argonne National Laboratory for the EcoCAR 3 collegiate advanced vehicle technology competition. Colorado State University. and will donate a Chevrolet Camaro to each one of the 16 universities that were recently selected for the exclusive competition.

Things were unsettled around the far-flung GM Empire during the second half of the 2000s, to put it mildly, and North American Suzuki dealers were moving a significant amount of Daewoo-built iron in the immediate aftermath of Daewoo Motor America's demise.
