Better Place is building stations in San Francisco, Hawaii, Israel, and Denmark to swap out 1,000 pound batteries in a car wash type set up. The electricity for recharging has to come from somewhere, which means power plants. There is significant cause vs. effect debate on CO2. We have oil! Boones natural gas ( CNG ) plans.

The batteries can be recharged in six hours or to 80 per cent capacity in 30minutes using a fast charge system. It was a well thought out move by PSA Peugeot Citroen to sign an agreement with Mitsubishi to manufacture the vehicle in Europe after the i-MiEV enjoyed significant success on its launch in Japan this summer.
