Honda’s e:HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) powertrain technology is offered as standard and its application in the Civic, and sees the deployment of a new 72-cell lithium-ion battery and two compact electric motors paired with a newly developed 2.0-liter liter direct-injection, Atkinson-cycle engine.

When sales of the Civic Hybrid started to flag, Honda introduced the Insight Hybrid earlier this year. It also plans to introduce the CR-Z (see article ), which has been dubbed the world’s first hybrid sports car; a hybrid version of the Fit; and both the EV-N and Skydeck concepts. Faye Sunderland.
