The UK Plug-in Car grant aims to stimulate the sales of electric cars by slicing a chunk of the price. Recently the value of the grant was reduced and the number of models eligible dramatically cut. The price of the range topping e-C4 has been reduced to bring the whole compact car range below the £35,000 threshold.

PSA Peugeot Citroen has announced that it is to reduce the price of its electric models, allowing them to undercut the price of rival, the Nissan Leaf. The Citroen C-Zero and Peugeot iON now cost just £21,216 (after a £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant is deducted), bringing them below key rival, the Leaf, which costs £25,990 [.].

All Citroen vans now available as EVs. All of Citroen’s main light vans are now available with all-electric powertrains. Prices for the Citroën ë-Berlingo Van Electric start from £24,910, from £28,250 for the ë-Dispatch Electric, and from £49,335 for the ë-Relay Electric, after the government’s Plug-in Vehicle Grant (PiVG).

Yesterday the UK Government announced immediate changes to the Plug-In car Grant, reducing the value to £2,500 and the number of models eligible. The value of the grant has been reduced by £500 to £2,500 and is only available on cars under £35,000. Additionally, MG has committed to topping up the grant to £3,000 until March 31, 2021.
