Chrysler Group LLC posted a second quarter operating profit of $183 million, and a first half 2010 operating profit of $326 million. Industrial costs increased due primarily to the ramp-up of ER&D expenses for the new product offensive starting in the second half of the year, partially offset by continued manufacturing efficiencies.

Despite the doom and gloom however, Chrysler insists that its day to day operations won’t be affected and that its green ENVI division will continue. The ENVI sector had plans to produce at least one of its prototypes with the Dodge Circuit EV listed as a 2010 product in the company’s viability plan.
