The fuel economy, which is best in Touring mode, is rated by the EPA at 24 mpg city/29 highway/26 combined mpg. mpg, same as the EPA. We were pleased to cross the 30 mpg mark and surpass the EPA 29 mpg rating by so much. In 365 miles of mostly freeway driving we averaged 26.1

The Environmental Protection Agency rates the 2021 Kia Niro PHEV at 46 mpg combined city and highway when running in hybrid mode, but an impressive 105 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent—MPGe is a measurement of how far a car can travel, electrically, on the same amount of energy as is contained in one gallon of gasoline). Average fuel efficiency in the US is 22 miles per gallon (mpg). New cars in 2015 get 25 mpg.) An acre of corn that provides 500 gallons of ethanol, at 22 mpg, gives you 11,000 miles, or would, if such gallons had the same energy content as a gallon of gasoline. Unfortunately, they don’t.

Id like to be a fly on the wall when an H2 franchisee asks to put in a hydrogen pump at Chevron. A car that gets 60 mpg still burns 17 gallons of gas every 1,000 miles versus a car that gets 21 mpg using E85 (my Chevy Impala) that burns 7.1 The bottleneck is infrastructure. forgot.water and electricity dont mix well.
