None of this quartet is cheap, but all are towards the value end of the EV market. That’s something we wanted to anaylse with this exclusive four-way test. Our first combatant is the Tesla Model 3.

5 million government grant was awarded in the 2020/2021 budget to help set up Adelaide-based manufacturing facilities. BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. And if we’re guessing, we reckon it could be called the Ranger Lightning (see above). Soon, apparently. Due in 2022. Due here in 2023.

This range-topping Kia EV9 GT-Line’s RRP is $121,000, then adds quite ridiculous $18,000 (in Queensland) on-road charges, pushing the bill to $139,000 drive-away. A mid-spec EV9 Earth is around $120,000 in the traffic, while the entry-level Air is a comparatively cheap $107,000. For you NSW lot, it’s $140,200.
