The MHSG is connected by belt to the engine’s crankshaft, and switches seamlessly between motor and generator modes. An advanced Electronic Control Unit (ECU) calculates the most efficient use of available energy and adjusts accordingly, taking into account the amount of charge remaining in the car’s batteries.
