Major Jerry Asher wheels around Arizona in a Toyota Prius hybrid, packing an extra battery and preaching a message to “kick gas” in favor of electric power. When the juice from the larger pack is used up, Spirit reverts back to driving like a regular Prius hybrid.This translates into gas mileage of up to 100 miles per gallon, Asher said.

This Educational Tour will be in, as mentioned, the All American "Spirit of DC" - Toyota Prius PHEV, which has been demonstrating the goal of 101 MPG, assisted by electricity. In fact, "Cash for Clunkers" should also be expanded to "Cash for Conversions!" Financial assistance is most welcomed as well.
