While Lexus unveiled its all-new 2013 GS 350 sports sedan at the recent Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, it showed off only the gasoline GS 350 model. Details of the future hybrid version, the 2013 Lexus GS 450h, remain under cover until the company launches the car officially at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.

Cumulative global sales of all Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC)-produced hybrid vehicles—i.e., Succeeded by the RX 450h in 2009, it has claimed the largest share of Lexus hybrid sales (51.2%), with 259,000 units sold through to November this year. RX 400h/450h. Today, hybrids account for about 25% of all Lexus sales.

Sales of hybrid-electric vehicles in the UK have steadily risen over the past five years, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. Of that number of hybrids, 77,000 were Toyota or Lexus cars.

Hybrid sales already account for 23% of Toyota Motor Europe’s (TME’s) total sales year-to-date. In August, Toyota Motor Corporation announced that Toyota and Lexus combined had sold more than eight million hybrid cars worldwide since the launch of the Toyota Prius in 1997. TME will add the RAV4 Hybrid in January next year.

Total combined Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicle sales in the US have topped the one million mark, according to Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA. With more than 107,000 sales in 2005, Prius became the third-best selling Toyota passenger car in the US after the Camry and Corolla. million vehicles through January of this year.
