All three incorporate a fourth-generation, 100 kW LT PEM (Low Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cell stack developed in-house by Volkswagen Group Research at the Volkswagen Technology Center for Electric Traction. An outer skin made from carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) encases the inner aluminum shell.
