At a conference in Chengdu, China, Toyota Toyota Motor Executive Vice President Atsushi said that the company is targeting selling 1.5 Toyota’s share of the Chinese passenger car market slipped from 10.3% last year, according to research firm LMC Automotive.Its comeback strategy makes use of its strength in hybrid cars.

Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co., established with China FAW Group Corporation in China’s Sichuan Province, has begun production of the third-generation Prius”gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle at its Changchun Plant. In 2010, GAC Toyota Motor Co., in Guangdong Province began production of the Camry Hybrid sedan.
