GM says it is already looking ahead to the next generation of Volt-based vehicles — it unveiled the Cadillac Converj concept in January — and says costs will come down as the technology spreads to more models. Engineering proptypes enjoy a tax break. To get the most mileage, one could not have the radio, the A/C, or the headlights on.
