If you buy a new lithium battery today, almost none of the minerals came from a prior battery. But right now, used lead-acid batteries are a commodity.

So pledge to go electric when you are in the market to buy a new scooter and save our cities from air pollution. Also note that there are many promising battery research projects that are going on like Al-Air batteries or Sodium-Ion batteries. Every 17 year old kid is getting a petrol scooter.
