Her team created a suite of low-cost medical devices, the NEST360 newborn tool kit, to improve neonatal health in sub-Saharan Africa. Connected on one side is a flexible fiber bundle, just 1 mm in diameter, with a light source and a digital CCD camera inside. The light source is a blue LED with a peak wavelength of 455 nm.
