Sales in emerging markets are increasing, led by Southeast Asia and Brazil, India and Thailand Electric car sales continued to increase in emerging market and developing economies (EMDEs) outside China in 2023, but they remained low overall. Chinese carmakers such as BYD, Chery and SAIC are also considering expanding to Mexico.
