Chevrolet has announced that the all-electric Silverado will boast a much-higher maximum range than anyone had anticipated. Rory Harvey, General Motors' incoming president for North America, has stated that the Silverado EV Work Truck (WT) will have an EPA-estimated 450 miles of range 450 miles on a full charge.

Following news that production of the Chevrolet Silverado EV would be delayed, General Motors has announced that the Chevy Equinox EV would likewise be arriving behind schedule. Conversely, the relevant earnings call does seem to have directly influenced the UAW to call for a walkout at GM's Arlington Assembly plant.

But it is a price that must be paid, and GM should be commended for remaining committed to the Volt. It isa fundamental change in direction for GM. GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Thats short-sighted.
