I met with Preeti Gupta, a freelancer with the BBC. In the Indian car world, the profit per vehicle is quite good, but the number of vehicles sold has reduced, thanks to production constraints forced by chips shortage. In contrast, the production constraint in the two wheeler industry, is only low demand.

Electric cars in the garages would double as battery packs for when energy supplies are scarce. insulating or rebuilding Europe’s rickety housing stock could cut heating bills from 30 to 80 per cent, which would slash demand for their product. We have no known Lithium deposits that could sustain domestic battery production.
