Around the same time, General Motors will introduce the Chevrolet Volt, a vehicle able to go 40 miles on electricity before its small gasoline engine kicks in. Price and tax incentives need to be worked out. Battery-powered motors are more efficient than gasoline engines. Locations must be found for charging stations.

Postal Service Minivan - Click above for high-res gallery Chrysler is celebrating Earth Day today by unveiling the first four of what will be a fleet of 250 battery-powered minivans for the U.S. Postal Service. The USPS will be using the vans for a variety of duties at locations around the country – including daily home delivery.
