It was a Manufacturing Failure, as GM NEVER planned to build the car in Volume, so No Economies of Scale were ever achieved. Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart.
