The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles. GM is developing more fuel-efficient vehicles. Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power.
